Public Notice is hereby given that the City Council of the City of Enterprise, Alabama, at the Organizational Session held on November 2, 2020, duly passed and adopted Ordinance 11-02-20-C.  The ordinance in its entirety is as set out below.

ORDINANCE 11-02-20-C

AN AMENDMENT TO ORDINANCE 11-03-08-C

OF THE CITY OF ENTERPRISE CODE OF ORDINANCES, RELATING TO THE

ASSIGNMENT OF VEHICLES TO OFFICIALS AND EMPLOYEES

WHEREAS; the City Council of the City of Enterprise, Alabama desires to amend Ordinance 11-03-08-C of the City of Enterprise Code of Ordinances relating to the assignment of vehicles to officials and employees such that in addition to the ability to assign a vehicle to the Mayor, the City Council may provide a per month expense reimbursement for the actual expenses associated with the use of the Mayor’s vehicle for City business.

THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ENTERPRISE, ALABAMA, as follows:

  1. Ordinance No. 11-03-08-C is hereby amended to include the following revision under:

SECTION I.    ASSIGNMENT OF VEHICLES TO OFFICIALS AND EMPLOYEES.

E.   Instead of using a City vehicle for use, the Mayor may elect to receive an expense reimbursement payment for the use of his or her personal vehicle for travel related to his official duties.  The reimbursement will be paid at the maximum IRS allowable mileage rate and substantiated monthly by affidavit.  The maximum reimbursement amount allowable is $750.00 per month. 

  1. Remaining provisions of 02-04-97-A remains unchanged
    Except as amended by Section I stated above, the provisions of Ordinance 02-04-97-A remain unchanged and in full force and effect.

    3.   Severability
    If any section, clause, phrase, or part of this ordinance is for any reason declared to be invalid by the valid judgment or decree of a court of competent jurisdiction, such decision shall not affect any remaining sections, sentences, clauses, phrases or parts of this ordinance.
  1. Effective Date

This ordinance shall take effect upon its approval by the City Council, or upon it’s otherwise becoming law, but shall nevertheless be published as required by law.
