The leaked draft majority opinion from the Supreme Court has all of Washington up in arms. Combined with the release of conservative justices’ home addresses, it is clear that a dangerous, coordinated attempt to undermine the court is underway. Both sides should condemn this behavior, and I have been disappointed that the Biden administration has shrugged off this type of behavior as normal.

A lot can change between now and the Court’s final decision on the Dobbs case, but it is my sincere hope that the draft opinion holds and Roe is overturned. Then we can begin to bring an end to this country’s tragic and shameful era of the widespread and indiscriminate legal termination of the lives of millions of unborn children.

It was an incredible experience to give a tour of the U.S. Capitol when over 200 students, parents and teachers from Enterprise City Schools came to Washington. The Capitol had been closed for tours during my entire time in Washington, so until recently, none of my constituents visiting Washington have been able to step inside the People’s House. This tour was a long-awaited experience that Heather and I will always remember and cherish.

The Capitol belongs to the American people, not me or Nancy Pelosi or anyone in Washington. I hope you’ll let my office know if you visit Washington and would like a tour.

President Ronald Reagan said freedom is a fragile thing never more than one generation away from extinction. During a time when many Americans justifiably distrust their government, the Biden administration is going out of its way to reenforce that mistrust and further divide the nation.

The Department of Homeland Security’s new “Disinformation Governance Board” sets a dangerous precedent and seems downright un-American. The appointment of a far-Left radical as its leader justifies the fears of conservatives who only want to practice the free speech our Constitution grants all Americans. I signed a letter led by my colleague Rep. Scott Franklin demanding answers from DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas about this new governmental censorship body.

DHS was created after 9/11 to protect Americans from terrorism and other threats. It is disturbing that two decades later, its mission is shifting to suppressing the rights of Americans. Secretary Mayorkas should get serious about returning DHS to its proper role. He should start by securing our border.
