CCCD monthly board meeting scheduled

Coffee County Conservation District will hold its monthly board meeting on Thursday, Sept. 10, at the Coffee County Commission Room in New Brockton.  The meeting will start at 9 a.m.  The number of people is limited that can be in the room so those planning to attend should call (334) 894-5581 Ext. 3.

Patriot Day Ceremony set for Friday

An inaugural 9/11 Patriot Day Ceremony at Henderson Park on Highway 167 is Friday, Sept. 11 at noon. The Wiregrass Chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution are sponsoring the event as the inaugural event of the “America 250” Program, a six-year series of events leading up to the 250th Anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence in 1776.

A display of 2,977 flags honoring those killed on 9/11 will be present and Pastor Leon Adams, who worked disaster recovery in New York City after 9/11 is the keynote speaker. For information call (334) 494-7846.

JROTC steak sale

The Enterprise High School JROTC Wildcat Battalion will host the “Make-Up Steak Cooking” Thursday, Nov. 19. “We apologize for the delay but this is as soon as we can feasibly accomplish it,” said JROTC Instructor Gary Price. Tickets must be presented at the counter to redeem steak dinner.

Those who want a refund are asked to mail tickets to EHS, ATTN: SGM Price, 1801 Boll Weevil Circle, Enterprise, 36330. Be sure to include name and address for a check refund to be sent. Price said the Annual Fall Steak Sale will be held in conjunction with the “Make-Up Steak Cooking.”
