The Daleville Police Department arrested two male suspects Dec. 17 after an alleged robbery at Complete Cash on Highway 84.

According to Daleville Police Department Lt. Kenny Jackson, the incident started at 12:53 p.m. when officers responded to an anonymous tip that two black males wearing hoodies, masks and gloves were exiting a red Chevrolet HHR and entering the woods behind the Complete Cash.

Officers arrived to the scene and found the two suspects matching the description leaving the building and running back toward the woods.

“So we went around on the other side of the wood line and as we were getting out of the truck, (the men) came running out of the woods where we were (located),” Jackson said.

Police later recovered a .32 caliber Smith & Wesson revolver and $791 they believe were taken from the business.

Daleville police arrested and charged Dothan residents Ladarius Vasean Ward, 22, and Ephan Habiballah Moore, 21, in connection with the crime.

According to reports, Ward has had many previous run-ins with law enforcement.

In September 2011, Dothan Police Department said Ward’s 2003 Mitsubishi Galant traveling north on Ross Clark Circle pulled into the path of a motorcycle. The driver of the motorcycle, Kevin Blake Kelly, 24, of Dothan, landed in the roadway and was then struck by a 2001 Ford Expedition, traveling west on Ross Clark Circle. The victim later died in the hospital from the injuries received in the accident. Ward fled the scene and was subsequently arrested.

A warrant was issued for his arrest after failure to appear in court for the leaving the scene of the accident charge in September. The warrant was later lifted and his bond was then revoked after he was wanted in connection with an alleged robbery at the Hardee’s at 1086 Ross Clark Circle in Dothan, Oct. 22.

The other suspect, Moore is on probation in Houston County for a second-degree strong-arm robbery charge, which took place March 2010.

Both were booked into the Dale County Jail on first-degree robbery charges with no bond.

According to Jackson, police are still searching for the red Chevrolet HHR vehicle, which may have been driven by a third person involved in the crime.

This is the second robbery at the Complete Cash. The business was also robbed on Oct. 29.

Officers have not said whether they believe the robberies are connected.

Jackson said he would like to thank the anonymous tip.

“I credit the whole thing to that (person) being alert, seeing that (something) looked funny and calling us,” he said.
