Alabama Community College System Chancellor, Dr. Mark A. Heinrich, announced today that he has appointed Dr. Cynthia Anthony acting president of Enterprise State Community College, effective on March 24, 2014. Dr. Anthony currently serves as Dean of Students at Lawson State Community College.
In announcing Dr. Anthony’s appointment, Dr. Heinrich commented, “Dr. Anthony has served with distinction in our system for a number of years, and I am very grateful for her willingness to assist during this transitional period at ESCC. I have complete confidence in Dr. Anthony’s ability to provide quality, dependable leadership to the college.”
Dr. Anthony earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology from Talladega College, and received both an Educational Specialist degree in Educational Leadership and a Masters of Education degree in Counseling from the University of Alabama at Birmingham.
She received UAB’s Department of Education’s Outstanding Alumni Award in 2005. Additionally, she is a graduate of the “Executives in Residence Program” at Birmingham Southern College, the Mississippi Community College Fellowship Program, the Lakin Institute for Mentored Leadership, and Leadership Bessemer.
Enterprise State Community College is a comprehensive community college serving more than 2,800 students annually along with the Alabama Aviation Centers in Albertville, Andalusia, Decatur, Mobile and Ozark.
