Alabama two-year college Chancellor Dr. Mark Heinrich met with faculty of Enterprise State Community College March 5 to inform them that ESCC President Nancy Chandler had tendered her resignation.

At the meeting, which happened at about 5:15 p.m., Heinrich told employees that he would be personally responsible for the administration of the college until an acting president is appointed and that all instructional programs would continue uninterrupted.

In a press release from Department of Post Secondary Education released the following morning, Heinrich said the department would work closely with the college during this time of transition.

Chandler’s resignation is effective June 1, 2014.

“While personnel issues are treated with respect and confidentiality, Chancellor Heinrich stated that Dr. Chandler has resigned in good standing and she will continue on administrative leave until her resignation date,” the release read.

Chandler has worked with the Alabama Community College System for more than 25 years.

“I am grateful for Dr. Chandler’s service t our system,” Heinrich said in the release. “At the Department of Postsecondary Education, we know how vitally important Enterprise State Community College is to the economic health and success of the students and communities it serves, and we are excited about helping Enterprise State move forward to an even brighter future.”
