• The Newton Library presents the Fall Festival fundraiser Oct. 23 at the library located at 209 Oates Drive in Newton. • In partnership with the Dale County Schools, area churches and organizations, Midland City Baptist Church is hosting a community Fall Festival at Midland City Elementary School on Sunday, Oct. 24 from 3 until 5 p.m. The festival will include inflatables, games, activities, a hayride, cotton candy, popcorn, and a free meal which includes a hot dog, chips, cookie and a drink. • The Scarecrow Festival and Car Show is scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 30 at Culpepper Park. The car show will be from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. and the Scarecrow Festival will be from 1-5 p.m. followed by Trick or Treat in the Park at sundown.
