A Texas man has been arrested in connection with female juvenile reported missing from Ozark.
John David Twomey of Brownwood, Texas, has been arrested and charged with traveling to meet a child for an unlawful sex act.
According to a news release from Ozark Police Chief Charles Ward, the “runaway juvenile” was located in Brownwood, Texas, accompanied by Twomey Oct. 4 at approximately 11:51 a.m.
The juvenile has ben placed in the custody of the Texas Department of Child Services for Detention until she can be transported back to Ozark.
Twomey has been charged in accordance with Texas State Criminal law and faces pending charges in Alabama, Ward said.
“The Ozark Police Department thanks the Dale County Sheriff’s Office, the Federal Bureau of Investigations, the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency and the Brownwood Police Department with help in locating the juvenile, Ward said.
The case is still under investigation by the Ozark Police Department.
