Alabama State Games

The Alabama State Games wrapped up play on June 12 with hundreds of athletes ascending upon the Wiregrass as Fort Rucker, Enterprise, Daleville, Dothan and Ozark hosted the various sports events.

In 4-on-4 grass volleyball, Montgomery’s Volley Llamas took home the 13U gold, while Enterprise’s No Hula Mahina captured bronze. In the adult division, Pensacola, Fla.’s Stat Precision won first place.

In baseball action, Team Ozark won the gold in the 19U Division, while Florabama Scout 16 won first place in the 16U Division.

In basketball, the AUSA Running Rebels won the 12U Division, while the Alabama Twisters won the 14U Division and the Millbrook Tarheels won the 15U Division and another team representing the Millbrook Tarheels won the 18U Division. The Montgomery Running Rebels won first place in the 16U Division.

In the female’s 5K race, Troy’s Ginny Gunn won the gold in the 16-19 division, while Blountsville’s Jessica Robertson won gold in the 20-24 division. Enterprise’s Eileen Maika also won silver in the 20-24 division. In the 25-29 division, Dothan’s Victoria Kehler won first place, while Sharon Sason of Enterprise won first place in the 30-34 division. Dothan’s Karrie Hart won the gold in the 40-44 division and Angela Grice, also of Dothan, won the 40-44 division. Danelle Petrman of Las Vegas, NV captured the gold in the 50-54 division, Dothan’s Sand Turner won the 55-59 division and Dothan’s Brigitte Elmore won first place in the 65-69 division.

In the male 5K race, Montgomery’s Levi Hatfield captured gold in the 9-11 division, Wetumpka’s Ken Martin won the 12-15 division, Millbrook’s Lucas Culpepper won the 25-29 division and Ihuanvaihe Ogubie of Dothan won the 30-34 division. Tommy Hatfield of Montgomery finished in first place in the 35-39 division, Frankie Keith of Dothan won the 40-44 division, Troy’s Chris McVay topped the 45-49 division and Dothan’s Steven Swain won the 50-54 division. Enterprise’s Thomas Haygood took home bronze in the 40-44 division, while Jimmy Russell of Chancellor won the 55-59 division. Spanish Fort’s Mark Sheehan won the 60-64 division, Dothan’s Dale Landefeld won the 65-69 division and Doug Everett of Huntsville won the 75 and up division.

In female archery, Abby Herrin won first place in the Cub Compound Open, while McKenna Carlson won first place in the Cub Hunter Compound and Maysen Duddy won the Youth Compound Open. Jordyn Hill won first place in the Youth Hunter Compound Division, Erin Starling won the High School Compound Open and Hailey Wilson won the High School Hunter Compound Division. In the Adult Compound Open, Faith Noe capture the gold, while Carolyn Hendrix won the Silver Senior Adult Female Barebow Traditional Division.

In male archery, Kace Lindsey won the Youth Hunter Compound Division and Zach Stephens won the High School Compound Open. Miek Stone won first place in the Adult Compound Open and Willie Faniel won the gold in the Senior Adult Compound Open. Allen Fuller won first place in the Senior Adult Compound Open and Anthony Parker won first place in the Senior Adult Barebow Traditional Open.

In baton twirling, Zoe Sexton of Newton won first place in the Novices Age 0-6 Division, while Ava Simerly of Dothan won the Novice Ages 9-10 Division and Somerville’s Alyssa Duke won first place in Novice Ages 11-12. Eufaula’s Aubrie Senn won Novice Ages 15+, Ashford’s Madison Bledsoe won the Beginner 15+, Oshkosh, Wis.’s Sienna Johnson won the Advance 13-14 Division and Hellam, Penn.’s Savannah Helton won first place in the Advance 15+ Division.

In bowling, William Vincent of Ranbow City won the U-10 Boys Division, while Tanner Ormes came in first place in the U-12 Boys Division. Enterprise’s Adonis Nysewander also took silver in the U-12 Boys Division. Hoover’s Michael Kimble won the U-15 Boys Division with Daleville’s Jesse Holtcamp coming in second place. In the U-18 Girls Division, Enterprise’s Jayden Trimm won first place and Austin Osburn of Wilmer won the U-18 Boys Division.

Enterprise’s Jacob Trimm won the 19-20 Male Division, Hunter Bell of Birmingham won the 21-29 Female Division, Prattville’s Danielle Crowder won the 30-39 Female Division, Prattville’s Tony Deavers won the Male 30-30 Division and David LeFever of Prattville won the Male 60-69 Division.

In the Adult Adaptive Co-Ed Team Division the team of Jackie Wiggins, Mattie Daniel and Mattie Harper of Center Point won, while Enterprise’s Sam Dippel, Holtcamp, Chris Daughtry and Alexandria Ashendorf won the U-18 Co-Ed Team Division.

In disc golf, Dothan’s Caden Wright won the gold in the Advanced Division, Tallahassee, Fla.’s Kara Hoover won the Advanced Women’s Division, Don Cropenbaker won the Amateur Masters 40+ Division, Calera’s Bill Waycaster won the Amateur Masters 50+ Division and Panama City, Fla.’s Timothy Oulmet won the Amateur Masters 60+ Division.

In the Intermediate Division, Eli Whitehurst of Cowarts won the gold, while Jeff Leach of Destin, Fla. won the gold in the Recreational Men’s Division, Hannah Smith of Dothan won the Recreational Women’s Division, Jeff Bowen of Dothan won the Novice Men’s Division and Victoria Jacobson of Dothan won the Novice Women’s Division.

In golf, the Montgomery duo of Landon Bertarelli and Cole Turner won the gold in the Golf Scramble Flight A Division, while Dothan’s Terri Hart and Tony Kirkland won the Golf Scramble Flight B Division. Another Dothan duo of Adam Hartzog and Aaron McCreight won the Golf Scramble Flight C Division, while Deatsville’s own Ronald Spencer and EJ Spencer won the Golf Scramble Flight D Division and Enterprise’s pair of Judah Talley and Kenneth Talley won the Golf Scramble Flight E Division.

In gymnastics, Xtreme Auburn won the Team Level 5 Division, United Dothan won Team Level 5, Xtreme Troy won Team Level 8 and Edgewater Gymnastics from Panama City, Fla won Team Level XG.

In individual competition, Reagan Spence of Dothan won the gold in Level 3 Vault and Level 3 Bars. Dothan’s Emily Barfield won first place in Level 3 Floor. In Level 4 Vault, Hannah Belismo of Dothan captured the gold, while Emma Lott of Dothan won Level 4 Bars and Belisomo also took the gold in Level 4 Beam.

Auburn’s Hadley Hudson won first place in Level 5 Vault, Level 5 Beam and Level 5 Floor, while Auburn’s Samara Reedy won Level 5 Bars.

In mountain biking, Lenwood Jones of Dothan captured first place in the 12U Division, Trussville’s Conrad Jones won the gold in the 13-14 Division and Guy Jones of Enterprise won the 19+ Division.

Enterprise’s Anthony DiNallo and Brody Rocque won first place in 3.0 19+ Pickelball.

In shooting sports, the North GA Misfits won first place in the BB Gun Team competition, while Daniel Jennings captured the gold in the the BB Gun Prone Male 8-10 Division, Cara Griffis won the BB Gun Prone Female 11-12 Division, Bethany Shirley won first place in the BB Gun Prone Female 11-12 Division and Lucas Schletteler won the BB Gun Prone Male 13-15 Division.

In swimming, Enterprise’s Abrianna Jacobi won first place in the Girls 13-14 200-Yard Freestyle Relay and Enterprise’s John Newman won first place in the Men’s 65-69 50-yard Freestyle race.
