Last week the Enterprise Lady Cats (9-2-1) earned a Top 25 ranking before picking up yet another big win.
Enterprise landed at No. 18 in the nation on the MaxPreps National Top 25, while also earning a No. 4 spot on the state rankings.
The Lady Cats then proceeded to travel to Smiths Station on March 18 to pick up a 2-1 win on the road.
Both teams battled to a 0-0 tie before Smiths Station took a 1-0 lead with 18:00 left in the game.
Enterprise’s Morgan Harrelson scored off a Sydney Garth assist with 13:08 left to tie the game up 1-1 and then Garth scored off an assist from Morgan Harrelson to take the 2-1 lead with 7:08 left.
The Lady Cats were able to hold off Smiths Station for the remainder of the game and earn the 2-1 win. Goalie Maggie Bryan allowed no points in the first half and Cheyenne Piercey had two saves, while giving up one goal in the second half.
Defensively, Mira Barnes had five steals for Enterprise, while both Corinna Jones and Ashlyn Purvis had three steals each.
The Lady Cats followed that win up with a 3-1 win over Fairhope on the road on March 22.
The Lady Cats were led by Garth with two goals, while Harrelson had one goal and one assist. Burress and Barnes each had one assist.
Bryan earned the win at goalie with four saves. Piercey allowed one goal.
Purvis had seven steals on defense, while Barnes had four steals.
The Lady Cats then faced off against Missouri’s Holt High School and lost 1-0 in a tough fight between the two sides.
Bryan had six saves in the goal, while giving up one. Piercey had five saves and gave up no goals.
Purvis had five steals, while Madilyn Webb and Hope Yerdon each had three.
“We played pretty (well) but we were unable to finish,” Enterprise coach Jill Harrelson said. “They were pretty fast defensively and our speed up top and their keeper playing very high was not good for us offensively.”
The Enterprise Wildcats (7-3-1) also earned a 5-0 shutout win over Eufaula on March 18.
Enterprise was led by Hunter Perry who scored two goals, while Sebastian Guerrero and Tyler Howard had one goal and one assist each.
Rasheed Bolaji also scored one goal. Logan Stanley and Manuel Munoz had one assist each.
The Wildcats then hosted Bayside Academy on March 22 and battled to a 2-2 tie.
Enterprise jumped out to a 1-0 lead off a Guerrero goal just as the game got underway before Bayside recovered to score two goals to take a 2-1 halftime lead.
Enterprise was able to tie things up 2-2 when Bolaji scored a goal off a Tyler Howard assist on a corner kick with 28:09 left in the game.
Enterprise had a number of chances for the remainder of the game but the Wildcats were unable to convert those opportunities into goals.
Jerry Grimes had two steals on defense, while Jonathan Denham had one steal.
