Classes in the Taoist Tai Chi Society™ Internal Arts and Methods are ongoing at the Enterprise YMCA Fitness Center and the Episcopal Church of the Epiphany Parish Hall. At the Y, classes are offered on Thursday at 1 p.m. and Saturday at 10 a.m. At the Episcopal Church, classes are offered on Monday at 9 a.m. and on Thursday at 5:30 p.m. Anyone interested in joining a class is encouraged to join any time. Tai Chi is an ancient Chinese exercise that promotes health and relaxation. It is suitable for all ages and physical conditions. The Republican Women of Coffee County will meet Wednesday, Aug. 21, at 11 am, at the Enterprise Country Club. Guest speakers will be Barry Moore, candidate for Congressional District 2 House Representative, and former Alabama State School Board Member Betty Peters. Mrs. Peters will discuss the Alabama Constitutional Amendment on Education that will be on the March 3, 2020 Primary ballot. The Enterprise Senior Citizens Center is for anyone 60 years of age or older. There is no fee to participate in the senior center program but donations are welcomed. Congregate lunches are served at the center and home-bound meals are delivered to eligible clients. Art classes are offered every Tuesday from 8 until 10 a.m., and 10 a.m. until noon. Sewing classes are offered every Monday and Wednesday from 8 a.m. until noon. Additional services include nutrition education, public education, legal assistance, telephone reassurance, information assistance and various programs through community service organizations. Day trips, organized special events and an evening once or twice a month for members to eat at a favorite restaurant are planned. The cost for trips and special events are the responsibility of the individual person who signs up to participate. Transportation services are provided to members that are unable to drive or do not have transportation within the city limits only. Members are brought to the center and returned home after lunch.
