Tyesha Ware is a 5-foot-7-inch basketball player who played both guard and post positions at Pleasant Grove High School. She recently joined high school teammates Rickeya Walker and Tiarta Smith in signing with Enterprise State Community College.
“I was searching for good colleges. I found ESCC and it had a good work ethic,” Ware said. “I was given a tryout and they offered me a scholarship.”
Ware averaged 15 points, five assists and 10 rebounds a game during her high school career and was named to an all-tournament team as a junior. She also played softball and volleyball at Pleasant Grove.
“Sports mean a lot to me,” Ware said. “If I didn’t have sports in my life I really don’t know where I’d be.”
Ware plans to become an athletic trainer.
“My dream is to complete college and at the time I retire I would have had a good, successful life,” she said. “My scholarship to ESCC is the start of my career.”
