Mac Danford (11) belts a home run against CACC-South last week.

The Enterprise State Community College Boll Weevils battled Coastal Alabama Community College-South (Coastal-South) in a pair of doubleheaders last week with each side winning at home.

ESCC started the week off sweeping Coastal-South at home on March 11 by a score of 5-1 and 6-1.

In the first game, Kyle Vogler led the Boll Weevils at the plate going 3-for-3 with a run, while Mac Danford also went 2-for-3 with a run. Cameron Williams also earned two RBIs and Enterprise native Connor Purvis had an RBI and one run.

Brady Peddie pitched all seven innings for ESCC and struck out six batters, while giving up just three hits and one run.

Vogler had another solid day on the mound in game two, going 2-for-3 with an RBI and a run, while Williams picked up two more RBIs. Danford also had two RBIs and a homerun.

New Brockton native Caleb Griffin pitched all seven innings and struck out three batters, while giving up three hits and one run. Danford also earned a double play on defense.

Things weren’t so rosy in the second doubleheader as Coastal-South won the first game 6-0 and won the second game 4-2.

Jon Lewis led ESCC at the plate going 2-for-2, while Williams earned one hit. Williams and Lewis were the only two Boll Weevils to earn a hit in the loss.

Jade Sikes pitched four and 2/3 innings and struck out three batters, while giving up six hits and six runs. Taylor Gover struck out two batters and gave up no hits or runs in one and 1/3 innings on the mound.

The Boll Weevils got the bats going in the second game with Vogler going 2-for-2 with a run and Danford also going 2-for-4 with an RBI. Christian Beasley, Gover and Purvis each had one hit, while Purvis scored a run.

New Brockton native Ethan Stinson pitched one and 1/3 innings and gave up one hit and one run. Maddox Herring spent three and 2/3 innings on the mound and struck out three batters and gave up two hits with three runs. Noah Farmer struck out one batter in one inning pitched.

The Lady Boll Weevils also battled Coastal-South in a pair of doubleheaders dropping all four games.

ESCC lost 11-2 in the first game and 12-1 in the second on March 11. Tori Watts and Harleigh Sims each scored one run in the first game. Sydney Arnett pitched five and 1/3 innings with four strikeouts along with nine hits and 11 runs given up.

In the second game, Lillian Reynolds went 2-for-2 with a home run. That homer was ESCC’s only run of the game.

Mackenzie Chamblee gave up 13 hits and 12 runs in four innings in the circle.

ESCC dropped the first game on March 13 by a score of 8-0 Bianca Potts and Reynolds each earned one hit. Those hits were the only hits of the day for the Lady Boll Weevils.

Arnett pitched all five innings and gave up six hits and eight runs, while striking out three batters.

ESCC had a better day in the second game but still lost 6-3. Sims and Theresa Reynolds each went 2-for-4 at the palte with a run. Tori Watts also scored one run.

Arnett pitched all seven innings gave up six hits with six runs, while striking out four batters. Of the six hits Arnett gave up, three were homeruns.
