Dylan Dalrymple (2) and the Wildcats picked up their sixth consecutive win last week.

After closing out February with a tournament championship in Mississippi, the Enterprise Wildcats (7-3) picked up their sixth consecutive win over the Andalusia Bulldogs 5-4 in 13 long innings on Tuesday, March 3.

A defensive battle between the two sides led to a 0-0 tie going into the sixth inning. Enterprise’s Dylan Dalrymple hit a line drive single into left field that drove home Connor Couch in the bottom of the sixth to give Enterprise its first run of the game and a 1-0 lead.

In the top of the seventh inning, Andalusia matched the score with a run to tie things up 1-1 to force extra innings.

The two sides were unable to earn runs in the next four innings, but Andalusia scored two runs in the top of the 12th inning to take a 3-1 lead.

In the bottom of the 12th, Couch hit a ground ball that drove home both Matthew Hutson and Jackson Lessman to tie the score up 3-3.

Andalusia retook the lead 4-3 with another run in the top of the 13th but Enterprise closed things out in the bottom of the inning.

First, Payton Easterling belted a line drive into left field that drove Colin Marsh home to tie the score up 4-4. Then, Logan McCarthy hit a fly ball into center field to drive Easterling home to give Enterprise the 5-4 walk-off win.

Enterprise’s Parker Sessions, Marsh, Dalrymple, Easterling and Lessman all earned two hits each.

Dalrymple picked up the win on the mound as he pitched one and 1/3 inning with only one run allowed and no hits.

Drew Williams had a big day on the mound, however, as he mowed down 12 batters and gave up just one hit and no runs in six innings.

Logan Fleming gave up one hit and two runs with four strikeouts in three and 2/3 innings pitched, while Cole Hooper struck out one batter and gave up three hits with one run on two innings on the mound.
