Dear Editor:
Mr. Heavrin wants to increase the number of Supreme Court Justices to 13 because the liberals may not get their way on abortion. The partisanship flips back and forth between ideologies just as the Senate and House sway with the majority. So, liberals want to get the upper hand by increasing the number of judges and slamming four liberals into office before January when they lose the Congress majority. Just like the liberal majority is proposing doing away with the filibuster so they can push policies through by a simple majority vote.
What happens Mr. Heavrin when the Republicans gain the majority and want to raise the Supreme Court number to 17 and put four more conservative judges in office? Do you then want to cry “foul” and reinstate the filibuster? The Republicans have had to eat crow from Pelosi and Schumer for the last 16 months, but a reckoning is coming in the midterms. Overturning Roe v Wade doesn’t outlaw abortion, it just returns that power to the states and takes it out of federal control.
Don’t like your state’s viewpoint? Change it or better yet, move.
