The 2013 Distinguished Young Woman Program of Coffee County (formerly America’s Junior Miss), has four exceptional young ladies participating for scholarship money and the honor of representing Coffee County.

The program will be held Saturday, Aug. 18 at 6 p.m. at St. Luke United Methodist Church.

All participants are seniors at Enterprise High School and will be competing in the categories of Scholastics, Talent, Interview, Fitness and Self-Expression.

Along with Paige Sormrude, 2012 DYW of Coffee County, these young ladies have spent the last three Sunday afternoons getting to know each other, learning routines, having interview sessions and just having fun.

Thanks to the community sponsors, these young women have the opportunity to gain over $4,500 in scholarships.

The 2013 participants are Dawn Turner, daughter of Lisa and Kip Turner; Mary Catherine Connors, daughter of Susan and John Conners; Payton Edberg, daughter of Wanda Cotter and Brian Edberg; and Jazzmin Carson, daughter of Kunteia Carson and James Carson.

Each contestant has chosen a “little sister.” Each “little sister,” a junior in high school, will assist and participate with them through the program. The little sisters are Nataleigh Dorrill, Ryan Harrelson, Samantha Walker and Hannah Muller.

The DYW program of Coffee County also has a program called “Little sisters to the program” which can be any young lady in the 8th-11th grade. They help with the production and also learn a routine to perform for entertainment in hopes of preparing them for participating one day. They are Anna Hart Collins, Madison Gallinger, Jessica Sneed, Mattie Hanson, Savannah Maddox, Mikaela Qiniones, Sarah Jane Levine, Breana Johnson, Tatiana Higgins, Delaney Gilmer, Alyssa Harmon, Arianna Belcher, Jayden Webb, A’Miracal Phillips and Milana Reynolds.
