DPD arrests one for child sexual abuse

Jonathan Jeremiah Ford

The Daleville Police Department has arrested a man for child sexual abuse following an incident caught on camera on Wednesday, June 13.

According to Lt. Noah Suiter, a witness observed Jonathan Jeremiah Ford, 38, of Daleville, touching a juvenile's genitalia and body on a closed caption TV system at the Daleville Public Library.

This witness then alerted DPL staff, who immediately called police, Suiter said.

He said officers located Ford at another business, with children in the vicinity, about 15 minutes after arriving on scene at the library, or around 5:10 p.m.

Ford has been charged with first-degree sexual abuse and is currently being held at the Dale County Jail on a $40,000 bond. Other charges are pending.
