Reward offered for Daleville robbery suspect information

A monetary reward is being offered by Dale County officials for any help in locating a Daleville robbery suspect.

On April 6, an armed robbery took place in the parking lot of McLin’s restaurant, according to a release from the Daleville Police Department. It stated the Daleville Department of Public Safety, Dale County Sheriff’s Office and Alabama State Troopers descended on the scene of the incident.

Interim Chief Allen Medley also said the incident occurred at approximately 9:30 p.m.

The suspect was described as a black male six feet tall, dressed in all black with dreads, according to the release, which also stated the suspect was armed with a handgun and fled on foot.

“At this time, we will consider him armed and dangerous because he did brandish a handgun and point it at the victim,” Medley said.

The victim, identified as the owner of the business, is in good health with no injuries and is resting at home, the release states.

The Dale County District Attorney’s Office is offering a $1,000 reward for any information leading to the arrest and conviction of the robbery suspect.

If any person has information, please call the Daleville DPS Crime Stoppers hotline at (334) 598-4442 or the DCSO at (334) 774-3114. Calls can be made anonymously.

Medley asked members of the public to provide any information they have about the incident.

“We want to let the community know we need their help at times like these,” Medley said. “Obviously, we have officers working, but they can’t see everything, and we do depend on (the community) a lot to help us out.

“Don’t be afraid to come to us. We’ve got ways of doing things discreetly if we need to.”

He also said the department always appreciates any help the community offers in any case.

“It’s like I tell the officers, this is not my department,” he said. “It’s theirs, and it’s also the citizens’ (department). We’re here for the citizens, and we’ve got to come together.”

The Daleville DPS thanked the DCSO and the Alabama State Troopers for their assistance.
