False drug, paternity tests investigation continues

A Dale County woman who is the subject of an ongoing Ozark Police Department investigation into false drug screenings and paternity testing was released from the Dale County Jail on $2,000 bond.

A and J Lab owner Brandy Murrah, 36, of Clopton turned herself into the Dale County Jail after learning that she was being sought in connection with a law enforcement investigation that began May 2 after allegations of altering and forging of drug test screenings and paternity testing at the Ozark-based lab surfaced.

Murrah is charged with two counts of forgery after evidence of drug screening reports that were provided to the Dale County Department of Human Resources by Murrah were found to be falsified, according to Ozark Police Chief Marlos Walker. “Multiple other drug screening reports provided by Murrah to Dale County DHR are also believed to be forged by Mrs. Murrah.”

Walker said the investigation is ongoing and additional charges are expected.

The Henry County Sheriff’s Office, Dale County District Attorney’s Office, the Dale County Department of Human Resources and the Dale County Court Officials are assisting in the investigation, he said.

Anyone with information is asked to call OPD Sgt. Everett Evans at (334) 774-2644.
