UPDATE: Ozark Police Chief Marlos Walker has confirmed that only one person was in the civilian helicopter that crashed in a residential neighborhood in Ozark Saturday, May 30, at about 11:30 a.m.

Walker said that the name of the person killed in the crash is being withheld pending notification of family members. 

Ozark Mayor Bob Bunting confirmed at the scene of the crash that the helicopter crashed on Buena Vista Drive, off of Deese Road, inside the city limits at approximately 11:30 a.m. 

 Bunting said no residents of the neighborhood were injured. Walker did confirm that the helicopter hit a tree but that no residences or any of the power lines were damaged in the crash.

Walker said that the crash is being investigated by Federal Aviation Administration authorities and no further information is available at this time.

The helicopter is believed to be a TH-55 helicopter.
