The Enterprise Farmer’s Market has been open throughout the COVID-19 health crisis because Farmers Markets are deemed essential under the health and safety guidelines. During this time, half of the tables have been removed, so we have fewer vendors in order to try to follow the 6-foot distancing directive. Arrows have been taped to the concrete floor to try to direct the shoppers, and markers are on the floor as well to show people where to stand. Vendors follow guidelines set forth by the Farmers Market Authority and customers are encouraged to wear masks and gloves if they desire. Most people were mindful of safety as they shopped, and they clearly had an appreciation for and desire to get the healthy, fresh foods available at the market.
From left, Isabella, Sawyer and Eleanor Palazzola of Fort Rucker picked out seed kits to take home and plant so they can watch their vegetables grow. Seed kits with a container, seeds and potting soil were given out to children during the Farmers Market Peak Season Kickoff Day Saturday.
