The Daleville Lady Hawks remained winless on the season in a 3-0 defeat at the hands of the Geneva County Lady Bulldogs.

Geneva County earned the clean sweep with a 25-11 win in the first set, 25-22 win in the second set and 25-13 win in the third and final set.

The Lady Hawks were led by senior Selah LaForge with five aces and one dig in the loss, while freshman Alissa Harris had two aces, two kills, four digs, a block and an assist.

Senior Coral Traxler added four digs and an ace, while junior Amerikus Enfinger had three aces and one dig. Sophomore Candace Buckhalter chipped in with three aces, one dig and one kill, while freshman Nelialyz Aviles had one ace and three digs.

The Dale County JV also picked up a win against Daleville’s JV squad 2-1 with Geneva County winning the first set 25-21, Daleville winning the second set 25-23 and Geneva County finishing off the game with a 15-5 win in the final set.

Daleville’s varsity also traveled to Hartford on Sept. 14 to compete in the Geneva County Volleyball Invitational but went 0-4 in tournament play.

Daleville lost 2-0 to Wicksburg, 2-1 to Samson, 2-1 to New Brockton and 2-0 to Geneva County.

The Lady Hawks are back at home against Cottonwood on Sept. 24 with JV playing at 4:30 p.m. and varsity tipping off immediately after.
