Community invited to game night

The community is invited out to game night on Sept. 21 from 6 until 11 p.m. at the Enterprise Farmer’s Market.

The night will feature domino’s, spades, bid whist, backgammon, etc., as well as prizes for attendees to win.

Staff Sgt. (Ret.) Terri Doby is spear-heading the event as way to help local female veterans in the community. All of the proceeds will go to a “women’s veteran center.”

The center is a mobile trailer that Doby will use to provide resources on health issues, mental health, Veteran Affairs disability, homelessness, etc., to local female vets in the Wiregrass area.

“We always talk about the heroes so that night we’re going to be talking about the sheroes,” Doby said.

Doby invites the veterans and everyone in the surrounding communities to the event to meet veterans.

“I think the community needs to know who we are,” Doby said.

Tickets will be $20 and can be bought at the door.

To buy tickets in advance or for more information about the event, contact Doby (347) 996-6610.
