Enterprise senior all-state receiver Chance Warren received a scholarship offer on Monday from Stanford University.
The Stanford offer is Warren’s first from a Power-5 conference and his third offer from an FBS school.
“I’m ecstatic,” Warren said of the offer. “It’s unbelievable to see where this journey has began to where it could possibly end.”
Warren attributed his success in the classroom – which has led to this prestigious offer – to his parents.
“It’s an honor to me, my parents have preached grades from the beginning and I took that serious,” Warren said. “So, I have my parents to thank for staying on me and putting school first.”
Warren also boasts scholarship offers from Navy, Army, Davidson and Morehead State.
On the football field, Warren was an all-state receiver as a junior and broke Enterprise’s single season receiving yardage (859) and touchdown (6) records. Warren and the experienced Wildcat offense are ready for 2017 season to begin.
“I’m excited to see where my senior year takes me and the EHS football team,” he said.
Warren is one of the leaders of the 2017 Wildcats and he had a message for any young athletes hoping to make it to the next level of competition.
“To the kids who strive to play a sport at the next level, grades are important,” Warren said. “Take them serious so that you can set yourself up for success in the future.”
