Hundreds of high school football players and coaches gathered at Enterprise High School last week to participate in a two-day team camp.

Enterprise hosted Opelika, Pell City and Colquitt County (Ga.) last Thursday and Friday. About 300 players and 55 coaches attended the event.

The teams participated in various drills and covered situations such as third down and red zone.

Enterprise coach David Faulkner said the camp was a success.

"I thought it went (really) well," he said. "(It was an) opportunity to bring in three first-class programs to come in, compete with us, do some team drills and work a lot of different phases of the game. I couldn't be any happier with how things went…"

The camp gave the Wildcats an opportunity to test their knowledge of the offensive and defensive schemes in a game-like setting.

"They say it's 100,000 reps to be an expert at something so you want to try to get as many reps as you can," Faulkner said. "The more reps you get the more muscle memory you create. The more (muscle memory) you create the more natural that act becomes. The more reps you get the better you're going to be."

Enterprise used the tough talent at the camp to become better, and Faulkner took notice.

"I thought our improvement level just skyrocketed," he said. "There is no doubt that from where we have been this summer to the last two days we raised our level of play, raised our competition level and I just felt like we improved in every aspect."
