Thursday was a banner day for Enterprise athletics as four EHS athletes signed scholarships to play at NCAA Division I schools.

Emily Davis, Rhett Harrelson, Chelsey Scott and Levi Tate each signed a letter of intent to play college athletics at a ceremony in the Enterprise High School Center for the Performing Arts.

"To say I'm excited about today is an understatement," Enterprise Principal Matt Rodgers said. "We're here to celebrate the success and achievements of four great student-athletes. I speak on behalf of our entire faculty and staff when I say we're proud of every one of these athletes."

Davis signed to play basketball at Alabama. A starter since her freshman season, Davis has averaged 8.8 points, 3.9 rebounds, 2.4 assists and 1.28 steals in the last three seasons. She helped the Lady Cats to a school record 28 wins last season and a spot in the South Central Regional for the first time.

"Emily's had a great career here and had a fantastic year last year," Rodgers said. "Emily's well-rounded. She plays basketball, volleyball and soccer."

Harrelson signed to play basketball at Western Carolina. Harrelson has started on the varsity basketball team at Enterprise since his eighth-grade season. As far as anyone can tell, Harrelson holds virtually all of the statistical records for the Wildcats. Harrelson has 1,855 points in his career. He has averaged 15.5 points per game and has shot 88 percent from the free-throw line playing for Enterprise.

"It took me a while to add up Rhett's statistics to be honest, since I think they date back to 1968," Rodgers said with a laugh. "He's had a remarkable career that we've thoroughly enjoyed watching. We're very appreciative of his efforts."

Scott signed to play volleyball at Alabama State University. A three-year member of the Lady Cats' volleyball team, Scott has 550 kills, 302 blocks and 69 aces in her career. Scott helped Enterprise to a school-record 46 wins this season and a spot in the Elite Eight State Tournament.

"She's had a remarkable career," Rodgers said. "We had a great year this year and Chelsey was one of our team leaders. She played a very important role in helping our team advance to the state tournament. We're very proud of her."

Tate signed to play baseball at Troy. A starter since his freshman season, Tate has a 20-6 record on the mound. Tate has struck out 166 while walking just 34 in 156.1 innings pitched. Tate has a 2.10 ERA at Enterprise and opponents are hitting just .229 against him. Tate has helped Enterprise to three consecutive second-round appearances in the baseball playoffs.

"Levi has some very impressive statistics," Rodgers said. "He's been in the program for quite some time. He's been a dominant force for our pitching staff. We're certainly proud of Levi."

Rodgers said the value of the scholarships of the four student-athletes totaled $263,880.

More than 200 family, friends, coaches and teammates cheered the players as they signed their scholarships.

"It's a really good day for their families," Rodgers said. "It's a really good day for the Wildcats."
