A Gordon man was killed Wednesday morning when his 1999 Harley Davidson motorcycle was struck by a 2008 Freightliner school bus.
Jackie Lavern Hughes, 46, of Gordon was traveling west on U.S. 84 when a school bus failed to yield the right of way and pulled into the path of Hughes' motorcycle. Hughes was pronounced dead at the scene by Houston County Coroner Robert Byrd. The nine passengers on the bus were treated at the scene for non-life threatening injuries.
No further information is available at this time as Alabama State Troopers continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.
