Enterprise boys basketball team wins tournament

The Enterprise High School boys team became the 2012 Wildcat Thanksgiving Tournament Champion when they defeated Smiths Station 71-58 on Wednesday, Nov. 21.

Enterprise had a two-point lead after the first quarter, leading 10-8.

The Wildcats furthered their lead in the second quarter to 28-19, and in the third quarter (46-38).

Smiths Station got within five points during the fourth quarter, but the Wildcats held the team off and won 71-58.

Joshua Boykin led the team with 33 points, the first time he ever went over 30 points in a game.

Tre’von McNeal had 21 points, and Nick Forte had 11.

The Wildcats made 26-of-36  free throws during the game.

The Enterprise Lady Cats got third place in the tournament when the team defeated Central-PC 41-36 for the first time in team history.

Central-PC lead the first quarter by a point, 15-14. But Enterprise battle back in the second quarter to close it out leading by a point, 22-21.

Enterprise led again by a single point at the end of the third quarter, 30-29 but furthered its lead in the fourth to win 41-36.

Ravon Tyson led the Lady Cats with 16 points. Deidra Jones had 13 points, and Jayla Franklin had six.

The teams will play again against Dothan on Nov. 30, beginning at 4:30 p.m.
