The EHS golf team won its April 17 match against Andalusia with another strong performance.
The Wildcats shot a 311 in the match, and Andalusia finished with a 397.
“We shot solid in the match,” EHS coach Joe Thornton said. “We played pretty well. We had several guys shoot in the 70s that day.”
Brayson Francisco shot a 74, Seth Johnson shot a 77 and Matthew Dunlap shot a 79. Kade Mathner shot an 82, and Corey Heckenast shot an 81.
The Enterprise girls team shot a 261 in the match.
Cayla VanAlstine led the Lady Cats with an 82. Christina Hall shot an 88, and Rebecca Morris had a 91. Kailey Powell 107.
“My girls played well also,” Thornton said. “Cayla was one under on the first nine. She didn’t finish one under, but she had a strong first round. That’s the start of being able to shoot under par so we’re just excited for her.”
The golf team was scheduled to play Providence in a match Tuesday after The Sun went to press. The boys section tournament is scheduled for April 28 at Indian Pines in Auburn, and the girls section tournament is scheduled for April 29 at Lakewood in Phenix City.
