Definitely need more guns for everyone. Yeah, right. You owe yourself facts. See the nationwide weekend gun violence and death reports by Joe Nocera in the NY Times. There he mentioned the April 17th killing, presumably drug related. See how many accidental shooting there, even with people's best intentions.
Never felt a need to have a gun for protection: I've lived in NYC, Chicago, Detroit, Madison, WI, Anchorage, AK, Talladega and Enterprise, AL. Never a single incident. Maybe just lucky. But the self-protection claim is entirely over-rated. I'd venture that most Americans have never been threatened with a gun. The gun is an instrument that maims and kills, or used to threaten same, nothing more, no matter who has one. So why are car sales and registration required? A car's purpose is transportation, but can be used lethally. You surely know the difference between a car and a gun. Right? Someone, please explain the logic regarding the loose laws about gun sales, ownership, and registration.
