Former Enterprise football coach David Faulkner was hired by Troy University on Friday, Jan. 25.
Faulkner confirmed his hiring to The Sun on Saturday and Troy is expected to release the details on the hiring next week. Faulkner’s role with the program will be an off-the-field role.
Faulkner resigned from Enterprise on Nov. 16, 2018 after coaching Enterprise to a 38-38 record in seven seasons and earning the 2016 Class 7A Coach of the Year Award.
Faulkner will be a wealth of football experience to the Troy program having served as a head coach and assistant at various high schools in Alabama including Enterprise, Hoover, Prattville, Fairhope and Alma Bryant.
New Troy head coach Chip Lindsey replaced Faulkner as Hoover’s offensive coordinator when Faulkner departed that program in 2007.
More information, including Faulkner’s title at Troy and comments from Faulkner, will be coming in the next week.
