CCCD board meeting scheduled for Jan. 10
The Coffee County Conservation District board meeting will be Thursday, Jan. 10, at 9 a.m. at the Coffee County Community Room, 1065 E. McKinnon Street, New Brockton.
ALEA to add digit to new driver’s licenses
The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency soon added a digit to driver’s license numbers to accommodate the state’s growing population. Effective Dec. 1, all new driver’s licenses and non-driver IDs contained eight-digit numbers. The longer numbers already have been used on state-issued non-driver IDs.
The change will not affect Alabama driver license holders who were issued seven-digit numbers. For questions concerning this change, please call (334) 242-4400.
Bridal fair planned at historic Holman House
Hosted by the Ozark Heritage Association and the Ozark Area Chamber of Commerce, the Second Annual Bridal Fair will be held at the the 106-year-old mansion on Broad Street in Ozark on Sunday, Jan. 13, from 1 until 5 p.m. and the public is invited.
DAV Chapter helps veterans with claims
DAV Chapter 9 Enterprise-Coffee County,704 Crawford Street, Enterprise, helps veterans with claims Monday-Thursday from 9 to 11 a.m. and other times by appointment. Call (334) 308-2480 for more information or to leave a message.
DAV service office open
Each Tuesday and Wednesday, except on national holidays, from 9 to 11 a.m., DAV Chapter #99 maintains a service office in the New Brockton Town Hall (Old Armory building) located at 706 McKinnon Street. This office will assist veterans who were injured or disabled while in military service. DAV service officers help veterans and their spouses with disability compensation claims, VA pension, death benefits, VA medical care, Socials Security disability benefits, veterans’ job programs, homeless veterans assistance at no charge.
