In recognition of area retirees, the Enterprise Chamber of Commerce will be hosting the 2012 "Getting to Know Enterprise" Retiree Fair and Picnic Oct. 9.
The event will be hosted at Johnny Henderson Park on Highway 167 North from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m.
Enterprise Chamber of Commerce President Phil Thomas said this is the first time the chamber has combined the fair and picnic into one event.
Thomas said the fair/picnic will provide lots of valuable information for attendees.
The event is free to attend, however, Thomas said patrons would need a free ticket to eat. Tickets are available from Retiree Committee members.
"We always have a really good turnout," Thomas said. "It's been a tradition we've done for years and it always is well received by the community."
Several vendors are expected to attend the event, which will also feature food, door prizes and entertainment from The Cowpen Creek Band and O-Neal Boswell and the Full-Throttle Band.
