Two people have been arrested in connection with an Enterprise Police Department investigation into an attempted murder that occurred in the 600 Block of North Rawls Street on Nov. 7.
Brittany Michelle Pierson Magwood and Garrett Oneal Jones Arencibia were arrested at 2:30 p.m. Nov. 24 after EPD patrol officers attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a speeding vehicle on Hwy 167 North.
According to Enterprise Police Department Lt. Billy Haglund, the driver of the vehicle refused to stop and a pursuit was initiated.
“During the pursuit, a passenger of the vehicle bailed out of the fleeing vehicle and was immediately apprehended by EPD officers,” Haglund said. “The fleeing vehicle was stopped shortly thereafter and the driver was taken into custody without further incident.”
Magwood has been identified as the driver of the vehicle, Haglund said. She has been charged with attempting to elude a police officer, reckless endangerment and second-degree unlawful possession of marijuana.
Arencibia is identified as the person who bailed out of the vehicle. He is charged with first degree kidnapping, attempted murder and third degree possession of a forged instrument.
Magwood and Arencibia were transported to the Coffee County Jail after being arrested.
