EBOE approves updated five-year capital plan

An updated five-year capital plan was approved by the Enterprise Board of Education at a meeting Aug. 25

Each year the state asks that schools update their five-year capital plan, Enterprise Schools Superintendent Dr. Camille Wright said, crediting assistant superintendent Greg Faught with extensive work on the update.

The plan includes construction of the new Coppinville Junior High School with a projected budget of $14,814,230. It is expected that the project will be completed in 2017.

A new heating, ventilating and air conditioning system for Dauphin Junior High School is expected to be completed in 2016. All the air conditioners in the school will be replaced. The budget for that project is $100,000.

An enhanced bus drop off and pickup for Pinedale Elementary School is expected to be completed in 2016. The project cost is $175,000.

Also expected to be completed in 2016 is enhanced technology at all the Enterprise City Schools at a projected cost of $200,000.

Projects to be funded in 2017 include electrical upgrades to various schools for $500,000, an upgrade to the heating, ventilating and air conditioning system for Pinedale Elementary School for $100,000 and enhanced technology at all schools for $200,000.

The 2018 projects include electrical upgrades at various schools for $500,000, a metal retrofit for flat roofs at Rucker Boulevard Elementary School, HVAC upgrades at various schools for $100,000, wireless connectivity and switch updates for the central office for $270,000, addition of a gym/activity room at Harrand Creek Elementary School and Rucker Boulevard Elementary School.

The projects to be funded in 2018 are HVAC upgrades at various schools for $100,000, replacement of all flat roofs with standing seam metal at Dauphin Junior High School for $750,000, technology upgrades at various schools for $200,000 and addition of a metal retrofit pitched roof system at Pinedale Elementary School for $747,540.

For 2020, the capital plan includes re-keying at various schools for $100,000, HVAC upgrade and outside air handler replacement at Rucker Boulevard Elementary School for $50,000, window replacement at various schools for $300,000, restrooms’ renovation at Dauphin Junior High School for $35,000, addition and upgrade for existing handicap ramps at Pinedale Elementary School for $25,000 and system technology upgrades for $200,000.
