A third person has died as a result of the three-vehicle crash that occurred Friday, Nov. 27, in Geneva.
Weston Phillip Smith, 19, of Samson died Dec. 1, according to Alabama Law enforcement Agency Public Information Officer Jess Thornton.
The crash initially claimed two lives and injured three.
Smith was injured when the 1990 Chevrolet pickup he was driving collided head-on with a 2002 Honda Civic. He was transported to Southeast Alabama Medical Center with life-threatening injuries.
Jack William Mock, 30, of Opp and Kenzly Lynn Moody, 8, of Samson, the driver and passenger in the Honda, were killed. Neither was using a seat belt, according to Alabama Law Enforcement Agency Public Information Officer Jess Thornton.
A passenger in the Chevrolet and another passenger in the Honda sustained injuries.
The crash occurred at 10:35 p.m. on Alabama 153 at the 2.5-mile marker, just over seven miles northwest of Samson. The preliminary investigation suggests alcohol was a factor, Thornton said.
Nothing further is available as Alabama State Troopers continue to investigate.
