An Enterprise man has been arrested and charged with first-degree kidnapping and third-degree domestic violence.

Donnie Bruce Motley, 56, was arrested Monday evening, according to Enterprise Police Department Public Information Officer Sgt. Billy Haglund.

Haglund said that police responded to a report of a man with a gun at a residence on the 3700 block of Lake Oak Ridge Drive.

“While enroute to the scene, officers were advised the suspect was holding a victim at gunpoint and refused to let the victim leave the residence,” Haglund said. “Upon arrival, officers made contact with the suspect via cell phone and the suspect advised he had a gun to the victim’s head and wanted to trade the victim for two other individuals.”

Haglund said that Motley advised officers that he was tired of talking, at which time he ended the conversation and refused any further communication.

“A short time later, officers heard a single gunshot from the residence and immediately made forced entry,” Haglund said, adding that Motley was taken into custody without further incident.
