During a May 21 Daleville City Council meeting, council members approved a cash handling policy for all city employees.
The cash handling policy was created to define and communicate the acceptable level for handling cash operations for the city.
The policy was also established to ensure clear and consistent practices within the city and to limit the city's losses as well as to outline the city's involvement in an investigation of losses.
More specifically, the policy is designed to avoid the loss of funds, detect missing funds, investigate the loss and to determine who is responsible.
In other business, council members approved a board appointment of Joe Reese for the Planning Commission and a resignation of James Perkins from the Board of Adjustments.
Mayor Claudia Wigglesworth said a board appointment is now available for the Board of Adjustments and on the Industrial Development Board.
