What lady doesn’t want a two-night stay at the beach, a shopping spree or a relaxing day at the spa?

The Daleville Chamber of Commerce and a variety of Daleville area businesses are offering an opportunity for men to treat their special lady, or for ladies to treat themselves, with the first Lady's Day Out fundraiser.

"It's a unique fundraiser that focuses on awarding a lucky lady (with) a relaxing, carefree, fun day out," Chamber Director Kay Kirkland said. "We know we have a lot of ladies in our area that work hard either at their jobs or raising a family or both, and this will give us a chance to reward them with something nice in return for all their work."

Individuals who participate in the fundraiser will get the chance to become a pampered recipient of one of three special prized packages or one of many individual prizes.

The first prize, an approximately $500 value, will include a Lady's Day Out T-shirt, tanning session, manicure and pedicure, facial, massage, haircut and style, makeover, lunch, shopping spree, Tiki party with nine family and friends, $50 gift card, Panama Jack bicycle with helmet and a two-night stay in Panama City Beach, Fla.

Winners of the second (an approximately $150 value) and the third prizes (an approximately $75 value) could win a haircut and style, brow wax, dinner for two, buffet and drink, Boston butt, $25 gift cards and a one-night hotel stay in Daleville.

Other individual prizes, valued at $15-$75, include smoothies, goody baskets, gift cards and more.

"It's a good treat for a lady to treat herself to," Kirkland said. "(It) also gives the gentleman a chance to treat their lady to this wonderful assortment of prizes. We want that gentleman to be a hero in her eyes."

For a contribution of $5 per ticket, participants can choose their numbers from now until Aug. 28 for the opportunity to win one of many prizes.

Proceeds from the fundraiser will go back into the community, Kirkland said, either for events and activities in the community like the Scarecrow Festival, Christmas parade and 1-223rd ball game or to help fund training activities for the local businesses.

“In addition to events, we’d like to be able to do more activities that help businesses learn how to help themselves,” Kirkland said. “We need the funds at our disposal to even be able to do those things.”

Kirkland said she hopes everyone will take advantage of this opportunity, and thanks the local businesses for their support.

“We just thought that this would be a neat way to honor the ladies,” she said. “I'm very pleased with and appreciate of all the businesses that are participating in this Lady's Day Out fundraiser. These businesses were more than willing to donate their products or services to give a lady a special day.”

Residents can get their tickets at the chamber, the Diner, 2 Girls and a Spa, the Castle Café, Center Drugs, Club Sun, the Pink Poodle, Pizza Hut and Mafoosky’s Deli.

The chamber will host a Business After Hours at the Big Ole’ House from 4:30-6:30 p.m. to announce the winners.

Kirkland said everyone is welcome to attend the event to hear the announcement.
