This year, the City of Enterprise is recognizing Assisted Living Week from Sunday, Sept. 11, to Saturday, Sept. 17.
The theme of Assisted Living Week 2016 is "Keeping Connected." This theme "encourages assisted living communities to support opportunities for residents to use the latest communication tools to engage with the world around them," according to the National Center for Assisted Living website.
The proclamation, signed by Mayor Kenneth Boswell on Thursday, Sept. 8, recognized the importance of the city's assisted living community residents.
"Residents of assisted living communities are active members of a larger community, all through their wisdom, life experiences and skills," the proclamation stated. "Their past contributions continue to be a vital part of Enterprise's rich history, and further contributions deepen our city's identity."
The proclamation encouraged citizens to volunteer or visit family, friends and loved ones who live in these communities.
