The Enterprise Police Department is asking for the public's help after a person has died from a shooting on Monday, July 23.

According to Public Information Officer Billy Haglund, the EPD responded to a shooting in the 100 Block of Dominey Street at 4:45 p.m.

Detectives determined that an altercation took place in the vicinity of Dominey and Pittman Street between two groups of individuals prior to the shooting, Haglund said.

He said the two groups of individuals exchanged gunfire in the street with multiple rounds being fired.

During this exchange of gunfire, one of the individuals was shot in the chest, he said.

The victim was pronounced deceased at the hospital, according to Haglund.

EPD detectives are actively investigating this shooting and no further information will be released at this time.

The EPD's Criminal Investigations Division (CID) is conducting this investigation and asks that anyone with additional information contact the EPD at (334) 347-2222 or leave a tip at www.enterprisepd.com.
