Little Miss Enterprise Braylee Moore got a great idea while her parents were planning a “Good Luck” party for her trip to the 2013 Miss National Peanut Festival Pageant.

Instead of gifts, the seven year old asked guests attending the party to make a financial or supply donation to the SOS Animal Shelter on Highway 84.

After the donations were received, Moore and her family brought more than $500 worth of supplies and contributions to the shelter Oct. 14.

“I really like animals, and I like to have them at home,” she said, as she unloaded her mom’s car. “I have one cat, two dogs, a lot fish and some goats with two babies.”

The donation included food for animals, dog and cat shampoo, cleaning supplies and financial contributions from the guests who came to her “Good Luck” party.

Braylee’s friends and family at Open Door Baptist Church donated all the items Oct. 13.

Her parents David and Amy Moore said Braylee has always loved animals.

“She loves animals and would take every animal in the shelter home if we would let her,” Amy said. “She’s always wanted to help, but she’s too young to volunteer. This was her way of helping.”

Moore will be representing Enterprise, as Little Miss Enterprise, in the National Peanut Festival Pageant this weekend.
