The deadline for qualifying for elections was Feb. 7, and Coffee County has several candidates who are seeking public office.
In the House Representative race in District 91, which includes the majority of the eastern portion of the county, Republican qualifiers are Joshua Pipkin and incumbent Barry Moore.
For the Alabama Senate, Republican qualifiers for District 31 are Garreth Moore and incumbent Jimmy Holley, who will face Democratic candidate Larry Greenwood after the Republican primary.
Coffee County Sheriff Dave Sutton is running for re-election unopposed.
Coffee County Revenue Commissioner Ronnie Burns is also running for re-election unopposed.
Three candidates are vying for the District 1 seat on the Coffee County Board of Education.
Joseph Arnold, who currently holds the seat, is not seeking re-election.
Republicans Jamie Wyrosdick, Amelia Rhoades and Brian McLeod have all qualified to run for the seat.
Danny Jernigan, who currently represents District 7 on the Coffee County Board of Education, is also not seeking re-election.
Three republican candidates, including Natalie Neuwien, Michael McDaniel and Larry Eddins, have all qualified in the Republican Party for the District 7 seat.
In the race for Coffee County Coroner, four candidates have qualified with the Republican Party.
Incumbent Tim Whitehead is seeking re-election, with competition from Robert Preachers, Daniel Edwards and Steve Resteivo.
In the House race in District 92, representing the southwestern portion of the county, including the town of Kinston, Mike Jones has qualified for re-election unopposed.
In the House race in District 90, representing the northwestern portion of the county, including portions of Elba, incumbent Charles Newton has switched from the Democratic Party to the Republican Party, and faces challenger Republican Chris Sells.
Democrat Walton Hickman will face the winner of the Republican primary in District 90.
As of press time, no other candidates have filed paperwork for election with either the Enterprise or Elba probate offices.
The primary election is scheduled on June 3 with a primary runoff on July 15.
The general election will be on Nov. 4.
