A flatiron helicopter was dispatched to a two-vehicle accident on Highway 84 East in Daleville at about 5 p.m., Aug. 13.

The wreck, involving two sedans, caused one vehicle to flip, trapping a victim inside.

According to Daleville Chief Harvey Mathis, the victim was pinned inside the vehicle with a severe head injury and unconscious.

Daleville police and volunteer firefighters worked the scene while the Dale County Sheriff’s Office assisted with traffic control.

Once the victim was freed from the vehicle, he was flown to Flowers hospital for treatment.

The other victim was transported via ambulance to Flowers Hospital with non life-threatening injuries.

Mathis said the cause of the accident is still under investigation.
