The city’s contracts with the Enterprise Chamber of Commerce and the Wiregrass Economic Development Corporation were renewed at the Enterprise City Council meeting held Tuesday, Dec. 1.
The $49,400 Wiregrass Economic Development Corporation contract, to be paid in quarterly payments of $12,350, was unanimously approved by the council.
That total includes an annual sum of $11,500 to be allocated for expenses related to economic development activities by or for the benefit of the city of Enterprise, as approved by the mayor. Any of the $11,500 remaining at the end of the year is to be returned to the city or applied to subsequent contracts.
The council also approved the annual contract with the Enterprise Chamber of Commerce in the amount of $62,500. That contract includes general funding, tourism assistance and hospitality functions and is to be paid quarterly.
Appointed to four year terms on the Incubator Advisory Committee board were Mike L. Moore, Carl Holbrook and Charlie Merritt.
Re-appointed to a six year term on the Water Works Board was John L. Mitchell Jr.
In other business, the council approved the request of Parks and Recreation Director Billy Powell to seek bids for an air conditioning unit for the Moose Hope Gymnasium.
The next Enterprise City Council meeting is Tuesday, Dec. 15, at 6 p.m. in the council chambers at Enterprise City Hall.
