Enterprise firefighters were called to the scene of a fire at about 6:14 p.m., Oct. 21.

When firefighters arrived flames were visible from out of the front door of a home at 505 Glenn Street.

The blaze was quickly extinguished and the EFD remained on scene to address hot spots.

Enterprise Fire Department Chief Byron Herring said the fire started in the kitchen in the area of a trashcan.

The home received heavy fire and smoke damage to the kitchen area and adjacent rooms, he said.

The owner of the home was outside when the fire started and called firefighters when he saw smoke and flames from the home.

No one was injured as a result of the fire.
