Former state Rep. Terry Spicer and former lobbyist Jarrod Massey reported to prison Aug. 27 to serve out sentences for their involvement in a vote-buying scheme to pass pro-gambling legislation.
Massey was sentenced to five years and four months for five counts of federal programs bribery and one count of conspiracy.
Spicer will serve four years and seven months for his involvement in the vote-buying scheme for one count of federal programs bribery.
Each reported to separate prisons.
Massey reported to the minimum-security prison camp at Maxwell Air Force Base in Montgomery.
Spicer, of Elba, reported to the minimum-security prison camp in Marion, Ill.
Area developer Ronnie Gilley was sentenced alongside Massey and Spicer to six and a half years in prison.
After being granted on extension by Federal Judge Myron Thompson for medical reasons, Gilley is scheduled to report to prison Sept. 24.
