Streets will be filled with monsters, witches, fairy tale princesses and beings straight out of the imaginations of children All Hallow's Eve.
To make sure Halloween is safe for all, officials ask that adults and children are mindful of their environment when hitting the streets in their quest for candy.
New Brockton has scheduled Halloween trick-or treat hours for Oct. 31 between 6 and 8 p.m. Daleville, Enterprise and Level Plains children will begin their quests at 5 and end at 7 p.m. Oct. 31.
The three municipalities require that all children, monsters, fairies, and any other magical creatures are accompanied by adults.
Children should travel in groups and have adult supervision at all times.
Parents and guardians who will be escorting groups of children during the trick-or-treat hours are advised to place emergency identification information tags discreetly inside the clothing of young children in case they should wander away from or be separated from the group.
Because it will be dark prior to the end of trick-or-treat hours, law enforcement is asking that each child wear reflective gear, carry a flashlight or glow stick and avoid running so they will be visible to cars and vehicles.
Residents are asked to be mindful of the hours that have been designated for trick-or-treating.
Parents and adults accompanying trick-or-treaters are asked to avoid houses without appropriate lighting. Trick-or-treaters should only approach homes that are well lit.
All trick-or-treaters should also avoid entering the home or vehicle of strangers.
Motorists are asked to be mindful of pedestrian traffic and avoid speeding in residential areas.
In order to help prevent injuries,residents are also urged to clear yards and sidewalks of any obstacles or decorations that may not be visible at night so children will not trip when they approach.
Before children begin eating their Halloween treats, it is important to inspect all candy and treats.
Masks are not to be worn at any other times than the allotted trick-or-treat hours.
Parents should discuss with their children the difference between tricks and vandalism.
Law enforcement officials throughout the area will be patrolling the streets heavily throughout All Hallow's Eve.
