A single-vehicle crash at 10 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 8, has claimed the lives of two Enterprise residents and injured five others.
According to Alabama Law Enforcement Agency Trooper Kevin Cook, Eulalia Pablo, 29, and a 6-year-old child were killed when the 2002 Ford Explorer in which they were passengers ran off the roadway and struck several trees.
Pablo and the child were pronounced dead at the scene by Coffee County Coroner Robert Preachers, Cook said.
The driver and four other passengers were transported to area hospitals for treatment of their injuries. Seat belts and child restraints were not in use, according to Cook.
The crash occurred on Alabama 167 at the 46.2-mile marker, 15 miles north of Enterprise. The preliminary investigation indicates that speed might have been a factor in the crash. Nothing further is available as Alabama State Troopers continue to investigate.
