The Coffee County Board of Education held a special called meeting Oct. 8 to discuss possible litigation affecting the board.

The board entered into an executive session at the request of Board President Galen McWaters via a motion, which passed 6-1.

Board member Danny Jernigan voted against entering into the executive session. During the session the board members met with attorney Sydney Smith, who was hired as a legal consultant following a previous executive session held on Oct. 4.

The executive session lasted approximately one hour and ended with the board taking no action.

Details as to the reason for the potential litigation have not been confirmed at this time.
